Privacy Policy

Last updated 19 August 2026.

Beacon Peak sends text announcements for community and congregational groups in Alpine, Utah. This policy says what we hold, why we hold it, and what we will never do with it.

Mobile information from opt-in will never be shared or sold to third parties or lead generators.

What we collect

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, trackers, or advertising scripts. It runs no JavaScript at all.

How we use it

Only to send the announcements you asked for, to honor a STOP the moment it arrives, and to keep the consent and delivery records described above. Nothing here is used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose you did not sign up for.

Who sees it

The volunteers who operate Beacon Peak.

Two service providers handle the information on our behalf, because the service cannot work without them: Twilio delivers the text messages, and Cloudflare hosts this site and stores our records. They process it only to provide those services to us and may not use it for their own purposes or pass it on. Your mobile carrier also handles each message in order to deliver it, as it does with any text.

Beyond that, nobody. We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose your information, and mobile information from opt-in will never be shared or sold to third parties or lead generators. We would disclose information only where a law or a court required it.

Stopping messages

Reply STOP to any message and that number stops receiving anything from us - every list at once, straight away, with no exceptions we can make by mistake. You will get one confirmation and nothing after it. Reply START to rejoin, or email us.

If you want to leave one list but keep another, email us and say which. Coming off a list is not the same as withdrawing consent, so it changes nothing else you signed up for.

Deleting your information

Email support@beaconpeak.org and we will remove your name, number, and replies, and stop messaging you.

Two things outlive that request, and we would rather name them than let you assume otherwise. The dated record that consent was given is kept, because we may have to produce it if a carrier asks why that number was ever messaged. And messages already sent to you stay in the delivery log, including their text, which can contain your first name; those are discarded after 90 days.

Deletion is not instant erasure either. Our host keeps encrypted point-in-time backups so a mistaken change can be undone. A deleted record stays recoverable inside those backups for up to 7 days, after which it expires with them.

How it is kept

Records are held in a database hosted by Cloudflare in the United States, reachable only by the accounts that operate the service, which require two-factor authentication. The number of people with access is deliberately small.

Adults only

Beacon Peak is intended for people 18 and older, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If a child's number reached us, email us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change to how your number is used will be posted here before it takes effect.
